Guiding

My guiding philosophy is simple: every good day out at the crags or in the hills offers limitless opportunities for learning — about the sport of climbing, the mountain environment, and yourself.

Since I began working as a guide in 2001, I have led hundreds of people on successful climbing adventures, everything from Boyscout groups on top-rope outings around suburban Boston to technical multi-day ascents in remote corners of the Alaska Range. Along the way, I realized that no two days on the job are ever the same. Each client brings their own strengths and weaknesses, goals and desires with them. My objective as a professional guide is always to make safe decisions and help craft a unique experience that lets you rise to your full potential.

As an independent guide based in the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire, I work in conjunction with several different services, including IMCS, Synnott Mountain Guides, and Mahoney Alpine Adventures. I am available year-around for guided climbs and technical instruction. Though I’ve had many opportunities to travel and climb around the globe, for diverse, accessible climbing adventures the White Mountains are second to none.  The Whites are also an excellent location to hone your skills for bigger objectives abroad.

Please contact me to discuss your specific climbing goals. I look foward to talking.
